Va’ad Lehotza’at Iton Ivri Yomi Be’America [Invitation to a meeting for the Committee to Establish a Daily Hebrew Newspaper in America].
Hebrew. One page. Undated, but 1908 from internal evidence. . J. Levenbach and J. Epstein call a meeting seeking to establish a daily Hebrew newspaper which they saw as an important desideratum in establishing America as a center of world Jewry. The public is here implored to come to 52 St. Marks Place in “the Zionist neighborhood downtown” and help make a Hebrew daily a reality. Their efforts were ultimately unsuccessful, for the honor of establishing America’s first Hebrew daily goes to Moses Goldman in 1909.
