Signed and dated lower right.
Klever Yuliy Yulyevich (1850, Derpt-1924).
Academician and Professor of Landscape Painting since 1881. Studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts (since 1867) under M. Klodt and S. Vorobyev. Took part in exhibitions of the Artists Encouragement Society, since 1879 took part in international exhibitions. Moved to Germany where he lived in late 19th and early 20th century. At present his artworks can be found in collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery and the Stat Russian Museum.
