Bock Ludwig (1886 - 1971).
German painter and graphic artist. He began his first professional art education at a private academy with Heinrich Knirr, and then at the artist colony of Heimhausen with Bernhard Buttersack. In 1906 he was admitted to the Munich Academy of Art. In 1908, he first took part in an exhibition at the Munich Secession. In the same year he received a bronze medal, and in 1909 a silver medal from the Munich Academy of Art. In 1910 he showed his work at the Thannhauser Gallery in Munich. In 1913, he went on a study trip to Paris to study French modernism and the artists such as Henri Matisse and Paul Cezanne who influenced his work. In 1917 he became a member of the Munich Secession. After the end of the war, Bock participated in the restoration of the Munich Secession, dissolved during the war, and he himself regularly took part in exhibitions. In 1952 he received an award for fine art from the state capital of Munich.
