medal for the landscape sketches, began his studies at the landscape Studio of Baron M.P. Klodt. In 1878 was awarded by the Golden Medal for the painting called ‘The morning’. In 1879 graduated from the Academy ranked as the first degree painter and the right for the pension travel. In 1880-1884 traveled by the cities of France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Switzerland. During the period created a great number of nature sketches, made under the influence of French painters. On the returning was granted with a title of Academician for the works presented. Since 1888 teaching at the drawing school of the ‘Itinerant exhibitions painters’. Member of the Mobile exhibition painters and the Kuingi Association. In Russia the favorite theme of the painter were the views of Moscow and Saint-Petersburg. Significant part of the artist’s inheritance are the landscapes: southern landscapes of the Crimea, Caucasus, South of France and Italy. In his works Krachkovsky was following the traditions of the academic realistic landscape. Personal exhibitions of I.E. Krachkovsky were held in Saint-Petersburg (1902, 1916), Paris and Nice (1908). The artist’s works are kept at the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, Museum of Academy of Arts and other collections.
