Honoured Worker of Arts of RSFSR. He studied in the Vilno Drawing School under I.P. Trutnev (1888), in the Academy of Arts (1891-1897) under B.P. Villevalde, A.D. Kivshenko, F.A. Rouboud. In 1891 and 1893 he was awarded with the Promotion Medals. In 1897
