Emilio Frejo Gutierrez (1956) "La Lonja", 1983.
Oil on canvas. Signed "E. Frejo Gutierrez" in the lower left corner. Titled and signed on the back.
Lonja de la Seda de Valencia, located in front of the market in the historic center of the city, is one of the most emblematic buildings of the Gothic Valencian citizen. It is the perfect setting for a scene where Valencian falleros and falleras can be seen with boxes of oranges from the orchard, emblematic elements for the city. In addition, the building receives its name from the precious silk fabric, which from the 14th to the 18th century was the engine of the Valencian economy and whose importance is reflected in the richness of regional fallera dresses. ;
Size: 114 x 149 cm; 140 x 175 cm (with frame)
In the year 2011 Emilio Frejo made a cleaning and restoration with subsequent varnishing of the painting, as indicated in a certificate that he himself wrote. and signed on October 20, 2011.
