Wood carving ‘ Our Lady with Infant Jesus’, 20th century
Carved wood with aged polychromy. It is a reproduction of the Virgin Mary in contrapposto with the Child on her left hip. Under the foot of the Virgin we see the representation of a moon, which symbolises the original sin committed by Eve and redeemed by Mary, who firmly triumphs over evil.
