Despite the writing “Second print” that appears in this copy, this is not a second edition print of the most fundamental book on ethics. On the title appears the words: “by Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzato nr’v”. These three letters following the author’s name are an acronym for Natra Rahamana Uperkaneih, meaning the Merciful should protect and redeem him. They imply that the author is still alive. This too is an inaccuracy, since the Ramchal passed away in 1747.
