Prayer Book ‘Tefillah LeDavid’. Personal Prayer Book of The Admor, Reb Duvid’l of Lelov zt”l. Manuscript of the Siddur Kavanot HaRashash.
Magnificent, personal copy that the Admor Reb Duvid’l of Lelov used, pouring out his heart to his Creator, and scaling great spiritual heights. This is the prayer book with Kavanot HaRashash in exceptionally beautiful scribal script, on etched leaves.

Reb Duvid’l’s grandson, Rabbi Bezion Yair Weinstock, wrote that this prayer book is filled with the Kavanot composed by Rabbi Shalom Sharabi, and is penned in magnificent, clear script, and bound in nine volumes with wonderful leather. He relates that Reb Duvid’l would always pray from it, focusing on the intentions of the Arizal that are written in it.
This is one of the nine volumes Rabbi Bezion referred to; the section of “Chatzot and Birkat HaShachar” as is titled in gilt letters on the binding. In addition, the Admor’s name is engraved in gilt letters: “David son of Rabbi Elazar Menachem shlita”.

Rabbi David Zvi Shlomo Biderman (Reb Duvid’l) 1843-1918 was the fifth Admor of Lelov, the son of the Admor, Rabbi Elazar Menachem Mendel Biderman. His mother was Mattel Feige, the daughter of Rabbi Zvi son of the Chozeh of Lublin.
When Reb Duvid’l was six years old he emigrated to the Holy Land with his grandfather. He later married Fruma, the daughter of Rabbi Noach Pinchas Horowitz of Brod, the grandson of the ‘Hafla’ah’. In his youth he was influenced by the Karliner Rebbe, Rabbi Ahron Perlow, the Beit Ahron. Reb Duvid’l later though, opened his own synagogue separate to Karlin. Following his father’s passing, despite the Chassidims’ urging, Reb Duvid’l refused to accept the position of Admor. It was only after his uncle, Rabbi Yitzchak David passed away, that he relented, and acceded to his mother’s persistent requests to assume the mantle of leadership. In this position he fused the Karlin and Lelov customs.
Rabbi Duvid’l founded the Batei Warsaw neighborhood in Jerusalem, and headed Kollel Polin for which he made great sacrifices. He also established Jerusalem’s Chassidic Beit Din, headed by the Torah Chessed. Together with his uncle, Rabbi Yitzchak David, he established the iconic Chassidic Yeshiva of Chayei Olam. He compiled the Prayer nusach (style) of Lelov Chassidut.
Reb Duvid’l was held in high esteem across the board of Jerusalem residents, by Jew and Arab alike, including the Turkish Authorities. His Torah insights were published in ‘Likutei Divrei David’, Jerusalem 1968.
Very good condition. Striking, antique, original, leather binding with magnificent and impressive gilt decorations, with gilt lettering.

Awe-inspiring! The personal Kabbalistic Prayer Book of the Holy Admor, Rabbi Duvid’l of Lelov zt”l. Kavanot HaRashash in scribal script.
