Tikkunei HaMoadim. Polemic. Not Seen In Public Auctions. Furth, 1724-1729. Single Edition. Most Rare!

Prayers, Tikkunim and Ethics. In Hebrew and Yiddish-Deitsch. Two parts in one volume, each section with its individual title page.

At the top of both title pages appear an antique, ownership signature in Ashkenazi script.

Section 1: 1729. Includes: customs for Erev Shabbat, Blessing of the moon and more.

Section 2: 1724. Includes matters regarding souls before a person is born and up to when a person departs from this world, sayings from the old and new Zohar…. Words from the Shlah and more.

In section 2, the author explains writing the composition anonymously, so as not to detract from his eternal reward. [The 1729 edition does state the author’s name – Aryeh son of Yehudah, known as Leib son of Zeligman of Pizwengen.]

Furth, 1725-1729. Avraham Bing and Boneft Schneur. Section 2 was published before Section 1. Single edition.

69, 105 leaves. 16 cm. Good condition. On the last leaf of Section 1, the page trimming was done too close to the text, slightly affecting text. On the first leaf (including the title page and author’s explanation) of Section 2, the missing part was filled in in by hand in beautiful script. Antique, leather binding.

This book was likely never before in Public Auction!
