With moving and heart-wrenching words, The Chafetz Chaim turns to the Rabbi of Darmstadt, Rabbi Yona Marzbach, and asks him to speedily come to the aid of Yeshiva Radin,
"because the situation is so terrible that it is impossible to describe, and for many months its Torah great students have not received their most basic and minimal needs, and they are suffering from hunger and terrible hardship, and the entire existence of the yeshiva is in danger."
Rabbi Yona of Marzbach:
Chief Rabbi of Darmstadt. Studied at the Rabbinical Beit Midrash in Berlin with Rabbi David Zvi Hoffman, Rabbi Avraham Eliyahu Kaplan and Rabbi Moshe Auerbach.
Rabbi of the separate Orthodox community in the city of Darmstadt, under whose leadership were which dozens of rural communities in the region of Hessen.
On the 16th of Adar 1939 Harav Marzbach immigrated to Eretz Israel, settling in Jerusalem. He was one of the Roshei Yeshiva of Yeshivat Kol Torah, as well as one of the editors of the Talmudic encyclopedia.
