Safah Brurah. The Tanach Dictionary in Five Languages. Amsterdam, 1701.
Safar Brurah is a book in five languages; Biblical Hebrew, Ashkenaz (German), French, Italian and Latin, simply translated. It is translations on all words of Tanach, with the addition of some words in the Mishna.
The publisher was Rabbi Yaakov Koppel son of Rabbi Zev Wolf of the Yaruslav community, grandson of Rabbi Simcha Bunim HaLevi, Av Beit Din of Romanov.
This is a most unusual book; a dictionary of words in Tanach and Mishna,
translated into four languages. At the end is a commentary on common sayings.
The publisher notes in his foreword that up till now dictionaries had only been printed in four languages. He now added French due to popular demand of those travelling to France on business.
