Wonderful Discovery: Autograph Manuscript Copy of a Book Based on a Dream, and Never Printed, in the Holy Handwriting of the Author – Sefer "Brit Karuta" by Rabbi Avraham Hakohen Skali, on the issues relating to circumcision.
This is a beautiful and well-preserved manuscript, written in a lovely western Sephardic script: the Sefer "Brit Karuta" by Rabbi Avraham Hakohen Skali, written in his very own holy handwriting. The entire book deals with the subject of circumcision, its laws, and all related matters, in the form of a commentary on the laws of circumcision in the Shulchan Aruch (Yoreh De'ah, 260-267).
This book has never been printed!
At the beginning of the manuscript, someone wrote that this book is named "Brit Karuta" and is by Rabbi Avraham Hakohen.

In the book "Melchei Rabbanan" [Jerusalem, 5655, page 10a], Rabbi Yosef Ben Naim mentions this book and notes that it begins with an introduction by the author. The introduction is missing in the manuscript copy.

In the introduction of the author's book, HaRav Skali writes that he composed the sefer based on a dream in which he was instructed to collect the laws of circumcision. Upon awakening, he fulfilled his dream.

Rabbi Avraham Hakohen Skali (1870-1924):
Rav Skali was a rabbi, halachic authority, posek, and rabbi of the city of Taza in Morocco. He authored the books "Brit Karuta" and "Be'er Mayim Chayim." Rabbi Avraham was born in the city of Fes to Rabbi David, a descendant of the Cohen-Skali family, and a fourth-generation descendant of Rabbi Aharon Hakohen Skali, known as "Ateret Zekenim."

The origin of the Cohen Skali family is in "The City of the Kohanim" in Debdou (and previously in Seville, Spain), but various branches migrated to the city of Fes or resided there frequently, and the prominent branch among them was the branch belonging to the sons of Rabbi Aharon Hakohen Skali. This branch was filled with rabbis, judges, and halachic authorities.

In the year 5611, HaRav Avraham married Miriam, daughter of Rabbi Shaul from the Ben David and Yosef family. Shortly after his wedding, he was appointed as rabbi of the city of Taza in northern Morocco and served in that position for twenty-five years until his passing.

He wrote several books of halacha, which remained in handwritten form and were found in the possession of his brothers. They were published after his death. He would sign his responsa with the acronym "Na"h.

Rabbi Avraham passed away in the city of Taza in Kislev 5611, at the age of 46.
Morocco, 19th century.
