Igeret Mesaperet Yichusta DeTzaddikei DeAra DeYisrael. Mantova, [1676]
An extremely rare booklet on The Holy Sites and Graves of Tzaddikim in the Holy Land. Single Edition.
A description of the holy places and graves of the righteous, from the time of the Tana'im to the time of the Ari, who are buried in the Land of Israel - printed by Rabbi Yosef Shalit Riqueti, author of the book Hachmat HaMishkan and emmissary from the Holy City of Safed.
The author of the book, Rabbi Yosef Riqueti (Otzar Harabbanim 8662): was a gifted artist who, among others, copied books, wrote ornate Megillot and Ketubot, made painted pottery and more. Was born in Italy (apparently in Venice) to Rabbi Eliezer Shalit. Immigrated to Safed as a youth during the years 1640-1643. Later, he returned to Italy and served as a Shadar of Safed during the years 1674-1676.
Alongside the book Chochmat Hamishkan, he printed in Mantua in the same year the book Igeret Mesaperet Yichusta DeTzaddikei DeAra DeYisrael, about Tzaddikim's graves and holy places in Eretz Yisrael (see: M. Bnayahu, Rabbi Yosef Riqueti, Asufot, II, 1988, p. 359-372).
