Fine copy of one the books by Rabbi Moshe Almosnino.

Drushim on the virtue of the Torah and Sefer Keri'at Shema She'al Hamitah, by Rabbi Moshe Almosnino. On the colophon, the printer, Yosef Yavetz, refers to the printing of the Talmud at his printing house at the same time: "He who graciously enabled us to complete [this book], shall enable us to complete the entire Talmud which we have begun".

Fine copy with wide margins.

On the last leaf, there is a foreign notation in ancient script.
On the title page of the book and elsewhere, there are stamps of "מספרית הרב מיכאל בערסאן, טשעלסי מאסס" (from the library of Rabbi Michael Berson, Chelsea Mass.).

The author Rabbi Moshe Almosnino [1516-1681]: one of the sages of Salonika and Rav of two of its communities. Studied Torah at the Rabbi Yosef Taitatzak's yeshiva. Was a famed Darshan as well as a leading Posek. Tried to unite the Salonika communities. In 1566, he traveled to Kushta to plead with the Turkish Sultan for the Jews of Salonika. Authored the book PIrkei Moshe, Me'ametz Ko'ach and more.

76 leaves. 21 cm. Good condition. Aging stains. Some taping. Some moth perforations. The last leaf is restored with paper filling. Thick quality paper. Wide margins.
