Rare and Early Silver Chanukkiya. Alt-Vienna 1840
Early and important Austrian Hanukkah Menorah, with a unique and rare design.
Back-plate Chanukkiya uniquely handcrafted by a silversmith and hallmarked in 1840.
The back of the Chanukkiya is a semi-circle with original engravings of plants on its edges. In its center, two reliefs were added of lions holding a crown. Quality, original hammering. Between the two lions, an original engraved inscription with the blessing 'להדליק נר חנוכה'.
The Chanukkiya is placed on 4 narrow, elegantly designed stems. At their top, sawed silver decorations. Between them, the eight fonts of the Menorah are placed with place for the oil and the wicks.
Original hallmarks from the first half of the 19th century in Vienna.
