'The Hovering Chanukkiya' - one of the earliest designs of the Jewish Brazillian artist Emil Shenfeld from 1988.
Enil is a Jewish Brazillian artist who immigrated from Sao Paulo to Israel in 1978. He studied industrial engineering at the Technion and after graduating, moved to Jerusalem and studied in the Bezalel Academy of Arts. In 1984, he opened his studio in Hutzot HaYotzer of Jerusalem.
This Chanukkiya is one of his early works and is hallmarked by him from 1988. In his work one can find engineering sophistication and playfullness, which captivated former USA President Bill Clinton, who purchased several of Shenfeld's works.
"For me, design is a way of life, observations, looking for an interesting form of effect" (Shenfeld).
