The Surrender of Louis II of Hungary before the Turkish Sultan Suleiman I called the Magnificent, large oil on copper from the late 16th century
The scene represented in this magnificent commemorative oil on copper painting made by a Belgian master of the Flemish school at the end of the 16th century or beginning of the 17th century commemorates the historical episode known as the Surrender of Louis II of Hungary to the Ottoman Empire headed by the Turkish Sultan. Suleiman I called the Magnificent in front of the troops of both, large oil on copper from the 17th century. Which would trigger the opening of the doors of Europe to the Turkish Empire until ending in the Battle of Vienna. Measurements with frame: 90 x 70 cm. Provenance: important private collection, Barcelona.
