Zamoskvorechye - the fourth book of the publication Monuments of architecture of Moscow. The area it is dedicated to is part of the Earth city territory. However, the natural isolation of the area, separated from the main part of the city by the loop of the Moscow river, largely determined its historical fate. This secured a certain autonomy of the Zamoskvorechye region, which is reflected in written and other sources, including the oldest plans of Moscow. In addition, Zarechye has always been included in the orbit of the center of the capital: the low - lying, flat nature of its landscape has long and still emphasizes the core of the city-the high left Bank of the Moscow river with the Kremlin hill in the middle, an amphitheater covering the bend. The book begins with an outline of the district's urban history. It describes the main stages of the formation of the Zarechye layout, the evolution of its development, the features of the addition and development of the Zamoskvoretsky urban landscape. The same thing, but with a narrower topographical reference, is stated in the brief historical sketches that open each of the sections of the book, compiled on the basis of the conditional division of the territory into sectors - areas that have a clear internal community.
