The Polish Uprising of 1863-1864, or the January Uprising (Polish. powstanie styczniowe — - a gentry uprising in the lands of the former Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, which were ceded to the Russian Empire, namely in the Kingdom of Poland, the North-Western region and in Volhynia.

The uprising was aimed at restoring the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth within the borders of 1772. It began on January 10 (22), 1863 and lasted until June 6 (18), 1864. Minor groups operated until October 22 (November 3), 1864, and the last rebel field commander, General Stanislaw Brzuska, was arrested only in April 1865. The last lone rebel operating in the territory of the North-Western Region, Vasily Konopatsky, was discovered by regular troops and captured only in October 1866. The last lone rebel operating on the territory of the Kingdom of Poland, Stefan Karczmarczyk, managed to hold out until June 1872. It ended with the defeat of the rebels and led to the activation of the anti-Polish policy of the Russian authorities.
