Not dated, probably 1875. A journey to Palestine made in 1873 with the intention of comparing "The Land" with "The Book", by examining the topography. Includes some maps and dozens of stunning engravings, many of them on an entire page. Exquisite cover with gold illustrations, gilt page margins. At the end of the book is a variety of illustrated advertisements.
English, 223 pages, reasonable condition: pages 11-14 detached; Pages. 103-106 are missing; Additional tears and defects on the cover. 28 X21 cm.
