Robertson - Map of South America
This engraved map is from William Robertson's Histoire de l'Amérique. This is the second edition of the work which was published in Paris by Pissot in 1780.

William Robertson (1721-1793) was a Scottish clergyman and historian. He served as the royal chaplin to George III. His work on America was noted for its social and philosophical discussions of Native Americans and the European settlers to the area.

The work is in good to very good condition overal. There may be a few minor imperfections, offset, or faint fox marks to be expected with age. The plate marks or borders are occasionally printed close to the edges to this work. There are some handling or tears to the left edge, with archival repair at the upper left fold Please review the image carefully for condition and contact us with any questions.
