Yardley - Sketchbook with 78 Original Color Pencil Drawings of Ships
This is sketchbook with 78 original color pencil drawings of ship by R. Yardley. It is numbered by the artist and was done circa 1965. The drawings feature detailed descriptions including the date spotted, name of the ship, direction of travel, flag details. Some of the drawings have news clippings pertaining to the ship featured. While we don't have autobiographical information on Yardley, he was clearly a skilled artist and excellent maritime craft knowledge. It seems a lot of his sketching was done off the coast of Torbay and depicted vessels from around world.
The work is in excellent condition overall. There may be a few light marks to be expected with age. Please review the image carefully for condition and contact us with any questions.
