The Ohr HaChaim. Rishon LeZion. Constantinople [1750] - first edition. These were the first novellae that Rabbeinu Ohr HaChaim wrote when he settled in Jerusalem, as per the title of the work: Rishon LeZion: Constantinople, [1750] Novellae on the Talmud, Rambam, Shulchan Aruch and Nach by Rabbeinu HaKadosh, Rabbi Chaim ibn Attar, the Ohr HaChaim. The novellae printed in this work were written by the Ohr HaChaim in the Knesset Yisrael Yeshivah that he founded when he moved to Jerusalem. As per the words of his disciple at the beginning of the work: Our ears heard from the holy mouth of the author zt”l that he wants to title this work Rishon LeZion, since it was the first fruit of his labors on holy soil.” Leaf 2a bears a curvy Sephardic owner signature: הצעיר משה נבון ס”ט .
