Kabbalah. Tola’at Yaakov. Krakow, [1581]

Sefer Tola’at Yaakov, fundamental elucidation on the order of Tefillos according to Pardes by kabbalist Rabbi Meir ibn Gabai.
Rabbi Meir ibn Gabai (c.1480-1539) was a prominent kabbalist from the era of the Spanish expulsion. This is a fundamental kabbalistic commentary on the tefillot.
The Shelah copied many snippets from this work. He wrote in his introduction, “I am only trying to reveal a little of the little that I received from authors and books that continue from the Zohar, especially from …the G-dly Rabbi Meir Gabai z”l and the G-dly Mahram Cordovero …and the G-dly Arizal.

Pedigreed copy. Bears the stamp of Rabbi Yisrael Deutsch av”d Yarmut, author of Ben Garni, son of the author of Goren David.
Antiquated owner signature on title page. סיני ישכר בער בלא"א יודא ליב ייטלש
