Rabbi Baruch Marcus: (1870-1961), the first chief rabbi of Haifa, a student of the "grandfather of Kelm" and a student of the Slobodka Yeshiva. In 1907, he immigrated to Israel and was appointed Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Haifa, and served in this position for 55 years and participated in the campaign organized by Rabbi Kook and Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld. He was one of the founders of the Council of Yeshivas in Eretz Israel and served as the first chairman of the Beit Din in Haifa, a member of the Chief Rabbinate Council. His book Amrei Baruch (Haifa 1930).
Rabbi Nissim Binyamin Ohana: (1881-1962) was the Deputy Chief Rabbi of Egypt, Chief Rabbi of Gaza, and in Haifa. (And elsewhere).
Rabbi Yehoshua Kaniel (1896-1940), a disciple and close friend of Rav Kook, was privileged to study with him in private, and was sent by HaRavah to Haifa in 1920 to assist Rabbi Baruch Marcus of blessed memory . In 1922 he became a member of the rabbinate in Haifa and founded the Rabbinical Court in Haifa, where he served as Dayan, alongside the then Chief Rabbi of Haifa [Rabbi Marcus].
