Imperial Russian Cuirassiers Pouch Plate 1828 Pattern
Rare and well preserved Tsarist Eagle medallion from the Officers' cartridges pouch. XIX century. It represents the Tsar's symbol with the bicephalous eagle with the crown and the representation of Saint Andrew. Circular plaque with a double headed crowned eagle, on its breast a shield with St.George slaying a dragon. Made of bronze, with remains of gilding. 11cm diameter. Beautiful patina. A 1828 pattern Imperial Russian Cuirassiers Pouch Plate, beautifully made of fantastic quality. Such plates were used during the Polish-Russian War of 1830-31 (November Uprising).
