A Letter from Rabbi Aharon Leib Shteinman. Switzerland, 1941
A letter from Rabbi Aharon Leib Shteinman, the elder of the sages of the generation, author of "Ayelet HaShachar", the letter was written when he sojourned in Switzerland. Switzerland, 1941.
[1] postcard. Written entirely in his handwriting and with his signature.
In the shadow of the draft notice which he received from the Polish Army, Rabbi Shteinman left Poland, and moved to Switzerland, where he learned in the Etz Chaim Yeshiva in Montreux. Due to this journey he was saved and he later became the Leader of the Generation and influenced the post-Holocaust Torah world, in Israel.
The postcard contains Torah novaelle, and it gives us an additional glimpse into this station in the life of the Rosh Yeshiva, as was revealed in the book "Gadol B'Kirbecha" which was published in the last year.
