'Shemot HaTzaddikim' by Rabbi Nachman of Breslov - the Book that is Capable of Changing Nature

"Mentioning names of Tzaddikim can bring about a change in Ma'asseh Bereshit - that is to change nature" (Sefer HaMidot Tzaddik part II 20)

Before us is an early edition of the renowned Breslover Segulah Book  'Shemot Hatzaddikim' written by Moharan"t after Rabbi Nachman of Breslov. Some bibliographers assume that this edition was printed in Lvov in c. 1870, see Mif'al HaBibliographiah entry 000152201, which introduces the assumption that it is part of Sefer HaMidot (of an unknown edition).

Shemot Hatzaddikim, is one of the first Breslov books. The book was printed following the words of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov who wrote "He who cares about G-d will write in a book all the names of the Tzaddikim and Tana'im and Yere'im to be commemorated" and "Mentioning names of Tzaddikim can bring about a change in Ma'asseh Bereshit - that is to change nature". (Sefer HaMidot Tzaddik part II 20). Following these words, Rabbi Nathan - the renowned disciple of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, authored a special book of names of Tzaddikim, containing names of Tzaddikim since the creation of the world until Rabbi Nathan's generation (the last name referred to in the edition before us is Rabbi Feibush of Hibnov).

Breslov Chassidim believe that reading the book is a Segulah for all that man needs and whoever needs miracles or supernatural salvation in any matter should say the names of the Tzaddikim written in it and merit seeing wonderous salvations.
