Shir haShirim with the 'Or HaChaim' Commentary. Rare Chassidic Edition

Shir HaShirim with the Rishon L'Zion commentary by the author of Or HaChaim. Printed after Shir HaShirim are two new customs introduced by the Chassidim: Mizmor 'Hodu' (Psalms 107) which is said on Sabbath eve before Mincha, and 'Kagavna' which is said before Barchu. Zholkva, [1804].

Before us is the second part of an especially rare Chassidic book. The original title of the book was 'Shomer Shabbat' by Rabbi David of Lida, which was printed in Zholkva in 1804. The book was printed based on an early edition which was given to the printers by the Maggid of Kozhnitz, with an approbation by him (appearing in its first part). The complete book was divided in two and before us is the second part.

The complete book is extremely rare and the collection of the National Library does not have a complete copy of it.

[36] pp. of [76]. 17 cm.

Fine condition: aging stains. Single worming perforations. A small tear to the corner of the last leaf, far from the text.
