Halachic and Aggadic novellae, by Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Halevi Horowitz, the rabbi of Frankfurt [the son of Ba'al HaHafla'ah].

On the title page: Lachmei Todah, which is the second part of Sefer Machaneh Levi. The author printed the book Machaneh Levi 15 years earlier together with his father's Sefer HaHaFla'ah. The author, son after son up to Rabbi Yeshaya Horowitz the author of 'Shnei Luchot HaBrit'.  

The book contains sermons, Aggadic matters and eulogies, including a eulogy for his father as well as novellae on the Shas. Alongside the book revealing great genius, it echoes the poor spiritual situation of Frankfurt. 

10, 258 leaves, 32.5 cm. Fine-very fine condition, some worming perforations to the margins. Original semi-leather binding.
