Hundreds of documents from a Jewish doctor at the time of the Second World War. Hungary
Collection of hundreds of letters, most handwritten, a minority typed, from a Jewish - Hungarian doctor named Peli, during the Second World War.
Most of these documents are dated [in the letters] between 1943-5. Most are written in German, with a few in Hebrew [primarily the family letters]. Peli's wife lived in Palestine during those years, and this collection includes letters that he received from Palestine written in Hebrew [primarily relating to her loneliness and the hardships of living in an unfamiliar country]. The collection also includes letters on other subjects; some personal, which reflect the hardships he underwent, and some professional, regarding medicine.
The archive has not been thoroughly inspected.
Hundreds of documents, fine condition.
