Tana"ch. Antwerp, 1573. Bibliographically Unknown Title Page. Bibliographic Discovery

Torah, Nevi'im U'Ketuvim, without vowelization or cantillation markings. Antwerp, 1573. Special copy.

The Tana"ch is printed in two columns, in small letters. The first kuntress marks all the verses, and from the second kuntress onward, only each fifth verse is marked; they are marked using letters.

There is similar Tanach known to have been printed in Antwerp in 1573, with the title page marked ืื ื•ื™ืจืฉื”, with an illustrated title page. This copy has a different, unknown, title page: Biblia Hebraica manvalia ad praestantiores editiones accvrata with the place and year of print: Antwerp 1573. The Bibliographiah does not list this title page, but there are similar title pages printed at a later time in Halle, Germany.

Alternating copy - between each printed leaf is a blank leaf, apparently for notations.

[1] 3-384 pp, lacking 5 pages at the end.
