Beautiful early edition of Rabbeinu Bechayei's commentary on the Torah printed by Daniel Bomberg.
Rabbi Meir Bar Natan of Hildsom's signature appears on the back of the title page: "Presently teacher here in Schaffhausen, 1621." Additional signature: Ya'akov Fossweiler."
List of amulets for protection against fires with sacred Names and an illustration of a star of David. Handwritten notation on the bottom of the page: "I was a teacher in the village of Schaffhausen from 1592-1593, a year and a half ..."
Uncommon edition. A more well-known edition was also printed in Venice, in 1544, at a different press.

Overall moderate-fine condition. Stains and aging stains. Minimal worming perforations in the margins of the first leaves. Minimal adhesions (primarily in the inner margins), tear in the final leaf without damage to the text. Old binding, chafed. Blemished spine reinforced with coarse adhesions.
