First edition of this important work authored by Rabbi Aharon, the Maggid of Zhitomir. He was the beloved disciple of Rabbi Levi of Berditchov. The book was printed soon after his passing, with enthusiastic approbations from chassidic leaders, Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heschel of Apta, Rabbi Yisrael son of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchov and Rabbi Mordechai ben Rabbi Menachem Nachum of Chernobyl. 

The author Rabbi Aharon of Zhitomir was born c. 1740. He was a primary disciple of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchov. He served as maggid in Zhitomir and then moved to Hungary where he established chassidic communities. He was one of the first leaders to disseminate chassidut in Hungary. He was buried in Zhitomir and his grave became a site of pilgrimage, particularly on his yartzheit on the 26th of Tishrei, one day after his teacher's yartzheit.

Condition: Very fine. The blank margins of the first leaves have been professionally restored. Minimal aging stains. Magnificent leather binding.
