Ohr HaChammah - Kabbalah. Three Parts. First Printed by The Shinova Rebbe; From the Belzer Rebbe's Estate

Pair of volumes from Sefer Ohr HaChammah [Shemot, Vayikra, BaMidbar and Devarim] - elucidation of the Zohar by Kabbalist Rabbi Avraham Azoulay (I), author of Chessed L'Avraham and the Chid"a's great-great-grandfather. The manuscript was discovered in an astonishing way by the Shinova Rebbe at a bookshop in the Land of Israel, and subsequently printed by him. Premishlan, 1897-1898.

During the Shinova Rebbe's famous trip to the Land of Israel, he discovered this manuscript, which had previously been in the Chid"a's possession (the Chid"a mentions it in his Shem HaGedolim) and had been lost ever since. When the Shinova Rebbe saw the manuscript at a local bookshop, he spent a large fortune to redeem it. The Rebbe then paid printers to publish this sefer that was so important to him.

* Sefer Shemot. Second edition printed by the Shinova Rebbe himself in his lifetime, Premishlan, 1897. [1] 272 leaf.

* Sefer Vayikra. Second edition printed by the Shinova Rebbe himself in his lifetime, Premishlan, 1897. Includes two large amulets at the beginning of the sefer. [2] 93 leaf. Leaf [2]: Kabbalistic diagrams.

* Sefer Bamidbar and Devarim. Second edition printed by the Shinova Rebbe himself in his lifetime, Premishlan, 1898. [1], 126 leaf.

This is the first edition of Part IV - Bamidbar/Devarim. In the introduction to this part (not printed in previous editions), Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga of Shinova writes that the manuscript came to him from the estate of Rabbi Yehoshua Rokeach of Belz, and was proofread by his son, R' Simchah Yissachar Ber Halberstam.

Part III and Part IV are bound together. Approximately 31 cm.

Overall fine condition. Important stamps. Old bindings, slightly worn.
