Before us are four volumes (the entire set on Sha"s, except for Tractate Yevamot) from the monumental series of books, Aruch LaNer, on the Babylonian Talmud.ֲ These books became foundational books, invaluable assets of the yeshivahs. They are among the most important works of the leading Later Authorities on Talmudic tractates.
Rabbi Ya'akov Ettlinger [1798-1832] was the Av Beit Din of Altona, one of the leaders of Orthodox Jewry and the highest rabbinic authority among the rabbis of Ashkenaz. (See more about him in this catalog.)
