She'elot U'Teshuvot Lechem Shlomo, Ohr HaChaim section, by Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Eherenreich, renowned rabbi of Shamloy. Shamloy, 1924. First edition. With author's dedication.
There is a lengthy and beautiful dedication [18 words] on the title page, handwritten and signed by the author.
The gaon Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich [1863-1944] was the Av Beit Din of Shamloy, in Silaj, Transylvania. He was renowned mainly for the book before us, She'elot U'Teshuvot Lechem Shlomo; aside from this he authored another forty works. Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich was born in Beregszֳ¡sz in 1863, and grew up under his grandfather, Rabbi Avraham Yehudah Schwartz, author of Kol Aryeh. He was known as one of the most prominent rabbis and adjudicators of his generation. He was a Chassid and disciple of the author of Kedushat Yom Tov of Sighet, and of his son, Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum of Satmar. He was murdered with his community in the Holocaust, at the end of WWII.
