Arriving for the first time in Crimea in 1889, the artist was so imbued with the beauty of the sunny peninsula that he decided to take root here. He especially fell in love with the small village of Gurzuf. Most of the Crimean paintings were written by Korovin in Gurzuf, where he spent a lot of time. In addition to Gurzuf, Korovin wrote in Yalta, Alupka, Sevastopol, Bakhchisarai, Simferopol. It is to the Crimean period of the artist's work that his most vivid and colorful paintings belong.
