Postcard from Monaco officially issued in honor of the wedding of Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace Kelly on April 19, 1956, stamped with an official Monaco commemorative seal bearing their portraits and the date of the event, stamped with official Monaco postmarks of April 19, 1956, and sent in July 1956 with handwritten greetings and personal details in Romanian - Excellent condition
Front:
The front of the postcard features a festive illustration, featuring portraits of the royal couple of Monaco: Princess Grace Kelly (left) and Prince Rainier III (right), with the official wedding date "19 AVRIL 1956" (April 19, 1956). Below the portraits appear the stylized letters "RC", which are the couple's initials ("Rainier & Grace"), and the inscription "MONACO" at the bottom. At the top left of the postcard is a 2-franc stamp issued to commemorate the wedding, featuring the portraits of Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace Kelly, each in a separate circle, printed with the royal crown emblem, the inscription "MONACO", and the date "19 AVRIL 1956". There are two official round postmarks of Monaco ("MONACO"), with the royal crown emblem, and the postmark date: 19 April 1956, corresponding to the date of the royal wedding itself.
Back side
The back side is the written side of the postcard, with the French inscription "CARTE POSTALE" (postcard). The text on the postcard was handwritten about three months after the royal wedding. The text is written in Romanian, and indicates that the authors were in Monte Carlo at the time, admiring the beauty of the area and the French Riviera and expressing appreciation for their friend, who seemed to be a stamp enthusiast, and therefore chose a postcard with this special collector's stamp especially for him.
